Overflow

From GRC 275 Assignment 6 Handout:

The overflow property decides what to do if the content inside an element exceeds the given width and height properties. You can use the overflow property when you want to have better control of the layout. Try to change the overflow property to: visible, hidden, auto, or inherit and see what happens. The default value is visible.

From http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_pos_overflow.asp

The overflow property specifies what happens if content overflows an element's box. [When using the scroll value,] the overflow is clipped, but a scroll-bar is added to see the rest of the content
